West Yorkshire Police Digital Policing provides technical and data solutions to support operational policing in keeping the public safe, and preventing and detecting crime. This includes the management and exploitation of a vast number and range of technologies, tools and data assets at a time of fast paced change and innovation, including cloud technologies, cyber risk. analytics and artificial intelligence.

This is an excellent opportunity to join the Data and Information department as lead for Data and Information Risk Management and Information Security.

Working alongside other specialists in a modern and flexible working environment, leading a small team, you will develop and deliver a customer focussed Information Assurance and Information Security function in order to reduce risk, including cyber, and in line with relevant legislation, standards and accreditations. This will involve the development and implementation of policies, strategies and standards to support corporate and departmental business plans.

We are looking for applicants with relevant subject area and sector expertise, skills and knowledge, including risk management and information security, along with recent proven experience of managing, leading and motivating staff.

The role involves requires proven stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills at a senior level, alongside the ability to write detailed reports and have experience of managing successful projects.

In addition, you will be prepared to travel for business purposes, and be prepared to work flexibly to suit business needs.

The successful candidate will be subject to personal and financial vetting checks prior to appointment.
