West Yorkshire Police are looking to recruit a Coroner’s Support Officer to join the team at Bradford to help deliver an effective and efficient Coronial service.

You will provide an essential liaison between HM Coroner, Coroner’s Officers, relatives of the deceased, and other agencies, like funeral directors and registrars involved in dealing with sudden, violent or unnatural death.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication and listening skills who has a sensitive and compassionate approach to deal with bereaved people. It is essential that you have experience of working successfully in an environment requiring sensitivity, tact and diplomacy.

It is also important that you are good with people, great in a team and naturally resilient.

You will have a good working knowledge of computer systems and packages including Microsoft Office, as you will be expected to take statements so experience in preparing reports is essential.

You must have the ability to travel around the force area, and it would be helpful if you had a full current UK/European Driving License.
