West Yorkshire Police is looking to appoint Advanced Digital Forensic Investigators to be based at sites across West Yorkshire Police Districts.
These roles are generally suited to people who have previous experience of working in Digital Forensics.

You will be part of the Digital Forensic Unit, providing technical knowledge, expertise and managing a caseload of investigations across all aspects of digital forensics.

You will support the investigation of all crime types including serious crime and can contribute towards West Yorkshire Police’s vison of ‘Keeping West Yorkshire Safe and Feeling Safe’.
You will report to a Senior Digital Forensic Investigator.

You may be required to attend live crime scenes and assist with Magistrate’s search warrants to advise investigating officers and oversee the activities of other digital forensic staff.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in a Digital Forensic environment and come with advanced knowledge and expertise of common computer and mobile operating systems and software applications.

You will be required to be educated to a degree level in a computer-based discipline or be able to demonstrate significant experience and understanding of working in a digital forensic environment.

A full current UK/European driving licence is essential, and you must have the willingness and ability to travel for business purposes and to work flexibly to suit the requirements of the department.
You must be prepared to participate in a standby rota if required.

This post comes with flexible working between the hours of 7am and 7pm.

This is a very challenging and demanding, but also rewarding role. The successful candidate will be subject to personal and financial vetting checks prior to appointment and will be required to undergo regular psychological assessments.
