Digital Forensic Technicians

West Yorkshire Police are looking to recruit four Digital Forensic Technicians in the Digital Forensics Unit, which supports the investigation of serious crime.

You will be part of the Digital Forensics Unit, providing administrative and technical support to the rest of the team. You will be responsible for acquiring data from many types of digital device and form part of the triage process for all levels of digital investigations.

You will support the investigation of serious crime and reporting to a Senior Digital Forensic Investigator, you will be involved in all types of investigation.

The ideal candidate will come with intermediate knowledge and expertise of common operating systems and applications. You must have an aptitude for problem solving, in a methodical and orderly manner.

You will be required to hold a relevant professional qualification in a computer based subject or be able to demonstrate significant experience and expertise in a technical environment. A working understanding of the Forensic examination of digital devices would also be desirable.

As a Full current UK/European driving licence holder, you must have the willingness and ability to travel for business purposes and to work flexibly to suit the requirements of the department.

This is a very challenging and demanding but also rewarding role. The successful candidate will be required to undergo regular Psychological Assessments.
