West Yorkshire Police is looking to recruit a Cornoner’s Support Officer on a job share basis to provide an essential liaison between HM Coroner; relatives of the deceased, and other agencies involved in dealing with sudden, violent or unnatural death, by obtaining statements and supporting the work of the Coroners Officers.

The successful candidate will have experience of working successfully in an environment requiring sensitivity, tact and diplomacy and will have the emotional resilience required to deal with grieving relatives.

It is essential that you have a good working knowledge of computerised systems and packages including Microsoft Office, and must be willing to undertake and pass any relevant training on Force computerised databases as required; experience in preparing reports is also essential.

As a Coroner’s Support Officer you must be able to travel around the Force area.

This post is a job share, contracted hours 18.5 hours per week working Wednesday afternoon and Thursday and Friday.
