West Yorkshire Police, as the lead Force for the Yorkshire and the Humber Regional Scientific Support Services (RSSS) is looking to recruit a Forensic Vehicle Examiner to be based in Sheffield.

We need you to provide a comprehensive, efficient crime scene examination service to police investigations by attending vehicle crime and recovered property.

We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate knowledge of practical techniques used to examine vehicle crime scenes and the investigative response required for such incidents. You will come with a basic knowledge of computer packages which will include, casework management systems, crime systems, Excel and Word.

The opportunity would suit a candidate with good communication skills and an aptitude for working in a diverse community. You will also need to understand health and safety issues and legislation relevant to vehicle crime scene examination and attendance.

Due to the nature of this role you must be able to provide Biometric samples (fingerprints and DNA) for inclusion on the respective Police Elimination Database for routine speculative searching purposes.

In addition, you must hold a full UK/European driving licence, be able to work Monday to Friday between 8.00 am to 4.00 pm and also have a flexible approach to working regionally to ensure a full crime scene investigation service across four forces. You will also be required to complete a recognised manual handling cause.
