NPAS is the national provider of air support to the Police Forces of England and Wales with West Yorkshire Police being the lead Force. As part of its commitment to delivering the National Police Air Service, West Yorkshire Police is looking to recruit six Line Pilots to be based at various locations throughout England and Wales.

You will be required to fly as a rostered Line Pilot in accordance with the approved Flight time Limitation (FLT) scheme providing effective aerial support to the ground based officers and in doing so improve operational response to incidents within the highest safety standards.

The ideal candidates will have a minimum of a Commercial Pilot’s Licence (Helicopter) with RT Licence and Class 1 Medical.

A team player and self-starter, you will already have gained a minimum of 1,500 hours total flying time which must include 50 hours flying at night (20 hours PIC) 500 hours PIC overland under VMC and significant low flying and instrument flying experience.

You must possess the ability to communicate clearly and concisely to team members while carrying out other tasks, as well as the ability and flexibility to work at other locations if required, usually with notice but also occasionally on an ad hoc basis.

In addition, you must hold a full UK driving licence for this role.

Therefore, where this applies, applicants may be refused on the grounds that it was not possible to vet them to the appropriate standard.
