West Yorkshire Police, as the lead Force for the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Scientific Support Services, is looking to recruit a Regional Forensic Intelligence Officer to join the Forensic Services Unit based at Calder Park, Wakefield.

The successful candidate will be required to work within a small team processing, reviewing and quality assure routine forensic identifications, advising Officers and deliver accurate Streamlined Forensic Reports that are compliant with current legislation and National policy to Force intelligence units across the Yorkshire and Humber region.

Candidates will need a basic knowledge of computerised databases and software packages as well as previous experience in researching and interpreting data. You should also have proven experience in prioritising workloads to deliver service in line with customer requirements, and have a flexible approach to your working hours.

A basic understanding of PACE, DNA legislation, match reporting and the National DNA Database would be advantageous, together with some awareness of technology and scientific advances relating to DNA, fingerprints and footwear.
