The Digital Forensic Unit (DFU) at West Yorkshire Police is currently undergoing a significant size increase and due to the expansion, we are seeking to recruit a Digital Forensics Trainer.

As Digital Forensics Trainer you will responsible for identifying and evaluating local training and development needs, designing solutions and delivering training of all aspects of digital forensics to individuals or groups within West Yorkshire Police to address identified departmental, organisational or individual needs.

It is an ideal role for those who have previous experience working as a Digital Forensic Practitioner and now looking to try something new! The role would be suitable for those who wish to train and develop investigators and technicians with a wide range of digital forensic experience.

Do you:

Have substantial experience (which you can evidence) as a Digital Forensic practioner and subject matter expert working across all levels and crime types, including complex investigations?

Hold relevant core skills and advanced professional certifications in relation to Digital Forensics?

Have the willingness to attend and ability to pass training courses?

Have the physical and emotional resilience to deal with abusive and offensive imagery depicting extreme violence, obscenity and depravity; including graphic images of child abuse? Please note: the successful candidate must be willing to undergo regular Psychological Assessments.

Hold a full current UK/European driving licence?

Have the ability and willingness to work flexibility if required?

Can you:

Demonstrate up to date knowledge of the application of advanced digital forensic tools, practices and procedures?

Show willingness and ability to travel for business purposes?

Work within an environment, extreme and offensive material including graphic images of child abuse?

What we can offer you in return:

The Salary is S02 (£31,875-£33,732), holiday entitlement starting at 29 days per annum, flexi time and agile working are available

You will be based at The Sir Alec Jeffries Building which has on-site parking facilities and is within walking distance of a number of popular food and drink establishments with easy access to the M1 motorway and Wakefield city centre. You can take in scenic views from our rooftop terraces or enjoy a game of pool in our expansive rest area.

Next Step
