VIPER® Engagement Officer

The National VIPER® Bureau is looking to recruit a highly motivated individual to work as part of a team with responsibility for engaging with communities, organising events and recording images to be used by the National VIPER® Bureau to be included in video identification parades. This role is part of a team delivering video identification parades to over 20 Forces across the UK.

This job is suitable for a self-motivated individual who will be responsible for establishing and maintaining close working partnerships with communities throughout the UK. The planning, organisation and attendance at volunteer recording events will be central to this role.

We need someone with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, together with a sensitivity to the cultural differences within our communities. The ability to deal with members of the public are essential, together with a proven aptitude for computer based work with accurate keyboard skills.

Duties include travelling to locations around the UK to meet and engage with local contacts, organise and attend volunteer recording sessions (which may require periods away from home) and responsibility for maintaining the quality and standard of volunteer images recorded.

You should be physically capable of lifting and successfully complete a manual handling course. A full UK driving licence is essential, as you must be able to travel for business purposes including working away from home on occasions and be able to work some unsociable hours.
