West Yorkshire Police are looking to appoint an Intelligence Officer Targeted Intercept within the Yorkshire and Humber Regional and Organised Crime Unit.

YHROCU are seeking a proactive intelligence professional to join a dedicated team of Law Enforcement Officers to fight Serious and Organised crime. The YHROCU is a collaborative working environment between Humberside, North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire Police forces.

You will be working at the forefront of law enforcement, building the best possible intelligence picture of the threat presented by serious and organised crime; the role will involve managing dynamic threat and supporting operational deployments against the most prolific and dangerous offenders. You will be involved in developing and delivering specialist capabilities on behalf of law enforcement whilst working in close collaboration with partners.

The successful candidate will work as part of a small team and be equipped and trained with the appropriate skills to operate in this specialist area involving the management of serious and organised crime.

Main responsibilities of the role:
- Targeted Intercept Operations manage and conduct the interception of communications against tasked Operations for the ROCU, utilising the National Crime Agency (NCA) capabilities.
- To contribute to the acquisition and development of operational and tactical technical intelligence relating to serious and organised crime affecting the UK within a dynamic environment.
- Provide operational and tactical support to YHROCU by gathering and assessing intelligence in accordance with legislation and policy. Conduct intelligence development in support of the YHROCU annual plan in the fight to cut serious and organised crime.
- Managing sensitive intelligence in line with legislation, IPA 2016 and the relevant safeguards.
- Build good working relationships with both internal and external partners including police forces and the National Crime Agency.
- Carry out all-source data exploitation, analysis, delivery and dissemination of Intelligence product relating to serious and organised crime, in support of operational, tactical and strategic objectives, through interaction with other departments and teams, and also with external partners.
- Identify, prioritise and manage threat and risk in accordance with legislation, policy and standard operating procedures.

To be considered, you will need to successfully complete security clearance before commencing the role and developed vetting clearance within the first 12 months as part of your probation period.

The role is available in the Warrington area.

Person Specification:
• The YHRCU is a 24/7 organisation, and working patterns must support business requirements. You may occasionally be asked to respond at short notice or outside of core hours but this it is not an essential requirement to do so.
• On occasions officers may be required to travel throughout the UK.
• Appointment will be conditional upon successful completion of a Pre-training assessment and a 10 week training programme (elements of which are pass or fail)
• Successful candidates will be required to follow a shift pattern 06:00 to 14:00 14:00 to 22:00 and one weekend in four.
