West Yorkshire Police as the lead Force for the Yorkshire and the Humber Regional Scientific Support Services (RSSS) is looking to recruit a Forensic Assessment Officer to be based at Calder Park, Wakefield.

The main purpose of this role is to carry out an evaluation and authorisation service for forensic requests submitted by Police Officers of Yorkshire and Humberside, ensuring compliance with all regulatory, quality and legislative requirements. You will be responsible for taking into consideration evidential value, forensic viability, limitations and sequential examination processes to ensure the most effective use of the forensic budget.

We are looking a candidate with a good working knowledge of forensic techniques. The successful candidate will have existing knowledge of Forensic Service Providers, forensic procurement, product specifications and forensic outcome evaluation processes.

You will also need excellent communication skills, a good working knowledge of computerised databases and a flexible approach to working hours.

For roles which are advertised as Career Progression Schemes, individuals will be appointed to the bottom scale point of the appropriate grade within the scheme, based on the role entry requirements
