THIS VACANCY HAS BEEN ADVERTISED EXTERNALLY

Force Drugs Partnership & Training Officer
Force Intelligence
Protective Services, Crime
Carr Gate, Wakefield

1 full-time fixed term post.

Full-time post (37hrs) - 2-year fixed term contract with the potential for the role to become a permanent position.

Embedded within an established Force Drugs Intelligence team, West Yorkshire Police is seeking to recruit for an exciting new role - to work alongside the Force Drugs Coordinator and Controlled Drugs Liaison Officer.

Liaising and working in conjunction with internal and external partners to deliver training around the Harm to Hope Strategy, will be a key element of the role. As the role is crucial to understanding and reducing drug related deaths, the appointed candidate will also be expected to identify other drug related threat areas within the Force. Applicants will, therefore, be required to display excellent communication skills as well as the ability to disseminate complex information.

This role would suit an individual with the ability to build relationships with Local Authorities, Health, and third-sector partners, and those with knowledge of the drugs market, drugs misuse, and relevant laws and procedures, as well as experience in the delivery of training. You should be comfortable working on your own initiative; to identify new emerging threat area and develop appropriate training in response.

This is a versatile role, which although initially office-based, will involve travelling to partnership meetings and events within West Yorkshire to deliver training. After successful completion of a probationary period, there will also be some opportunity for agile working.

West Yorkshire Police offers a range of employee benefits including the following:

• Flexi-time scheme – this allows employees the fluidity to flex their daily start and finish times within the parameters of a ‘bandwidth’ period and, subject to agreement, to take additional hours as ‘flexi leave’.
• Agile working - where agreed and where the requirements of the role allow, this includes the provision of an agile working kit to enable home-working and working at alternative locations as appropriate.
• Attractive Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).
• An Employee Assistance Service (EAS) – 24/7 access to helplines, online resources, and services to support the wellbeing of you and your family.
• The option to participate in a ‘cycle to work’ scheme.
• The option to participate in the emergency services discount scheme - known as ‘Blue Light’ - providing members with thousands of discounts both online and on the high street.
• Generous annual leave entitlement.
• Free membership to the College of Policing and access to learning and development; including externally accredited programmes.
• Recognised trade unions, Police Federation, and staff support networks.
• Various sports and social clubs.
• On-site parking is available at the Carr Gate site on a first come first served basis.
