The Yorkshire & Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit (YHROCU) are looking to recruit enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to fill a number of researcher roles within the Regional Intelligence Unit based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

As a researcher you will undertake quantitative and qualitative research to provide timely and accurate support to investigation teams and departments and assist in building a complete and accurate picture of a range of crime types and criminal activity across the Region, in relation to Serious and Organised crime.

You will delve into researching various internal and external systems to find key information that will support officers and analysts in their investigations and enquiries and present this at briefings and written reports to help inform decision making. You will also develop and maintain relationships with colleagues and partner agencies in order to support information sharing and collaborative working.

Specific duties include:

• Interrogating local, regional and national systems
• Creating intelligence packages to inform decision making at a strategic, tactical or operational level
• Liaising with other departments/ forces and external organisations to obtain relevant information
• Attending local and force wide briefings
• Resolving intelligence gaps to inform supervision and front line officers and to assist in the progression of investigations.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and presentation skills, an aptitude for problem solving and the ability to work in a high pressured environment. Proven research experience/ working in an intelligence environment and experience of report writing would also be beneficial.
