West Yorkshire Police have a rare and exciting opportunity available for a part-time Occupational Health Nurse Advisor to work 30.5 hours per week within our Occupational Health Unit based in Wakefield.

We need you to support the Occupational Health team in delivering a fully comprehensive Occupational Health nursing service across the West Yorkshire Police Force area, and to assist the Unit in promoting a healthy, safe and productive approach to work within the bio-psycho-social philosophy of West Yorkshire Police.

To be considered for this position, you will need to be a qualified Registered General Nurse who can evidence their formal Occupational Health qualification, or be in your final year of working towards a formal qualification in Occupational Health Nursing as recognized by the Nursing and Midwifery Council. You will also need to have experience of modern screening techniques and interpreting results, and you must be competent in the use of a range of computer based software packages such as Microsoft Office.

Ideally, we are seeking a candidate who is able to demonstrate their ability to take on their own workload and demonstrate effective case management, whilst working effectively within a multidisciplinary team. You will be required to travel to various sites across West Yorkshire. Due to the nature of this post, you will also need to hold a full current UK/European driving license, and have access to a car which you are prepared to use for business purposes.

In certain circumstances, West Yorkshire Police may determine that payment of a temporary market factor supplement is appropriate in order to address exceptional pay differentials.
This market factor is temporary and subject to an annual review (the review is from the original decision made). Protection of earnings is not applicable to market factor payments.
