West Yorkshire Police is seeking to appoint an experienced Compliance and Energy Manager to join their Estates Department.

This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with the abilities to provide in-house expertise in Compliance and Energy across both disciplines within live buildings, day to day reactive and planned maintenance works, and in support of major installations, whilst also assisting the wider department in the compliant delivery of both projects and day to day facilities management of the Force Estate.

The Force Estate comprises over 70 buildings and includes a wide range of operational and specialist facilities.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Health and Safety and Compliance and will be responsible for the control, management and reporting against revenue budgets up to £5m relating to energy and utility consumption and spend.

A clear working knowledge of current industry regulations, standards and best practice, Health and Safety legislation and statutory compliance is essential.

Ideal candidates will have experience in managing and coordinating contractors to support multi-discipline projects. It would also be desirable for the successful candidate to have a working knowledge and understanding of 'Sustainable and Green' energies and also national agendas to help progress carbon reduction initiatives within the department and the wider organisation.

Ideal candidates will have the ability to work well within a team, on their own initiative and prioritise workload, with the ability to respond to day-to-day issues and solve practical problems. They will also have excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide oral and written reports to the senior management team, and also provide technical advice with clarity to both internal colleagues, clients, and external consultants and contractors.

You will have a strong background and Operational experience of risk assessment and risk management in an estates/construction environment and have a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification.

The role is based at Force Headquarters in Central Wakefield but the ability to travel throughout West Yorkshire to suit the needs of West Yorkshire Police is essential.
