West Yorkshire Police is seeking applicants who can deliver training to Police Officers and Police Staff, contributing to the design and continuous review of reactive crime investigation and to assist, as required, in other areas of design and delivery within the Crime Training function according to business needs.

This post will be based at the Learning and Development Centre now based at Carr Gate’s first class facilities. These are recognised nationally for the delivery of first class Detective Training, however applicants should be aware that some training takes place at other sites across the Force area and may have to travel nationally to attend meetings and training programmes to ensure compliance with standards and for personal development.

Applicants will have recent and substantial investigatory experience in serious and complex crime, major investigations and demonstrate the ability and commitment to be proactive in continuous professional development in role related skills and knowledge.

To be considered for this role you must hold the PIP level 2 accreditation or equivalent crime investigation foundation accreditation and have the ability to obtain a training qualification at Level 3 certification. You will also have current knowledge of criminal law procedures.

In addition you must have good working knowledge and experience in the use of computer systems, including Microsoft applications. You must also be willing and have the ability to travel for business purposes and work varied hours to suit the needs for the department.
