West Yorkshire Police is looking to recruit a Court Support Officer to join its Central Prosecution and Casualty Prevention Unit based in Bradford.

The Central Prosecution and Casualty Prevention team is responsible for the processing and handling of all camera detections in the West Yorkshire Police area. This includes the offering of national driver re-training scheme courses and dealing with enquiries from members of the public concerning the issuance of tickets, summonses, postal requisitions, and judicial enforcement. The processing of DVLA, fraud, and freedom of information enquiries also forms part of the role.

It would be your responsibility, as a Court Support Officer, to ensure the Unit consistently provides an effective prosecution service to the organisation, to partner agencies and to HM Courts. The role will involve data input, case management, file processing and decision making, as well as attendance at Court to perform clerical duties alongside the Court Prosecution officer. This would entail dealing with Court attendees on a face-to-face basis, dealing with queries and checking documentation to ensure all the required objectives within its portfolio are met, that output is maintained, and that Court deadlines are adhered to.

The ideal candidate would have previous experience of working in an administrative or clerical environment, as well as previous experience of working in a similar customer-focused and confidential environment. Knowledge of computerised databases and software applications, specifically Microsoft Office, is also a requirement.

The appointed candidate must be prepared to take a flexible approach to working hours to ensure the delivery of an efficient service that meets the needs of the customer.
