West Yorkshire Police are looking to recruit three Senior Digital Forensic Investigators in the Digital Forensics unit, which supports the investigation of serious crime. You will lead the Digital Forensics Unit, providing technical knowledge and investigative skills in all aspects of Digital Forensics, supporting an investigation. To be responsible for all levels of digital investigations and supervise the day to day management of the unit.

You will support the investigation of serious crime. You will be responsible for assessing initial submissions, setting strategies and managing all levels of digital investigations utilising technical knowledge and investigative skills. Reporting to the Detective Inspector, you will have first line management responsibility for all staff working in the unit and laboratory. You will supervise the day to day operations of the unit and ensure the quality standards of ISO 17025 accreditation are delivered and met. You may be required to attend live crime scenes and Magistrates search warrants to advise investigating officers and oversee activities of digital forensic staff.

To be considered for this role you must also have previous supervisory/management experience. The ideal candidate will come with advanced knowledge and expertise of common operating systems and applications. You must have an aptitude for problem solving, in a methodical and orderly manner.

You will be required to be educated to a degree level in a computer based discipline or be able to demonstrate significant experience and understanding of working in a Digital Forensic environment. You should also have a working understanding of the Forensic examination of digital devices with experience of working on all crime types. You will need to demonstrate an awareness and understanding of relevant Criminal Law and Procedures and the requirements of ISO 17025 accreditation.

As a Full current UK/European driving licence holder, you must have the willingness and ability to travel for business purposes and to work flexibly to suit the requirements of the department. You must be prepared to participate in a weekend standby rota if required.

This is a very challenging and demanding but also rewarding role. The successful candidate will be required to undergo regular Psychological Assessments.
