West Yorkshire Police is looking to recruit Intelligence and Source Unit researchers to join the Counter Terrorism Unit based in Leeds with one post available for a Regional Prisons Intelligence Unit researcher to work from the Hull area, depending on the preference of the successful candidate.

An excellent opportunity has arisen to play a key role in a unique team, supporting the work of Counter Terror Policing.

In this role you will conduct research in support of CTP objectives, providing timely and accurate reports to a range of CTP customers, internally and externally.

You will be required to have previous experience within an intelligence environment and/or experience of research, as well as a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and the ability to interrogate computerised databases.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written including report writing skills.

You will also be willing and able to attain Intelligence Professionalisation Programme (IPP) certification in line with the role and able to work in a high pressure environment and to tight deadlines.

You must be prepared to work flexible hours to suit the CTP requirements and willing to work with in the UK wherever required as part of a Regional and National response.

Please note that the successful candidate will be subject to Enhanced level personal and financial vetting checks prior to appointment.

You must be a British citizen and eligible to hold a British passport to work in the CTP NE. For security reasons you should not discuss your application with anyone other than your immediate family.

Therefore, where this applies, applicants may be refused on the grounds that it was not possible to vet them to the appropriate standard.
